I was really looking forward to seeing this movie, have been waiting on pins and needles for YouTube to put it up for rent. and I am left... raising an eyebrow. I didn't hate it, but I am not sure it lived up to all the hype either. Could have done without the weird dance scene where she could suddenly talk. And the ddenly we are suppose to believe she can sprout gills of her own? Hmm. Who's here after waking up in the Bay Area this morning. This movie made me cRy.

This movie needed too much attention from kids who have 10 seconds of attention spans and no use for higher brain functions. It's not just a movie, it's a masterpiece of art. Exactly like those famous paintings or those prized nature photographs. You watch it. You think about it. You just enjoy every scene detail because of beautiful camera photography. You dream the sequels and possibilities after the end. THAT is why the movie is such good one. I was so sad when no one liked it. i remember walking out of the movie theatre with awe at this movie, but all of my friends were disappointed. they all thought it was too confusing, not enough action. i still love this movie, and am so glad people are finally accepting that it is incredible.

Thats the fish man from Hell Boy lol. I bought the movie 😂. I just returned from seeing the movie in IMAX. Just before seeing it, I watched the original Blade Runner with a friend who had never seen it before. I won't bore you with the details and reasons for my poor rating. I will simply say I'm deeply disappointed in the overall story, and I found it difficult to follow. So, as one reviewer noted, I must have the attention span of a 5-year-old. The original Blade Runner is a far better piece of work. Blade runner 2049 on netflix. In a weird way, Im glad this movie flopped; if it made billions Hollywood wouldve shat out a million awful sequels by now! Instead we get this undiluted masterpiece. Who knows in 20 or 30 years we could have a 3rd masterpiece.

I did not care much for the first one. I appreciated it, but didn't care for it. This one is a masterpiece. And the soundtrack is a masterpiece within a masterpiece. Just a phenomenal film. If this was a standalone film and not a sequel, i'd give it a 9... but it seems they misunderstood a couple of things about Blade Runner.
The performances are too sterile outside of Sylvia Hoeks and Robin Wright (the director's fault) and every scene is too long and ponderous for the thin plot they decided on. It was overplayed, and when all of the plot relies on twists and surprises... the film becomes less interesting with each watch for me.
I have the same problem with Nolan's films, they rely too much on people not knowing "spoilers" only watching it a couple of times and being wowed by spectacle.
The original gets more interesting with each watch for me.
While the lighting is incredible and the smokeyness is there, the camera operation is pretty bland (TV-ish) and the set design doesn't match Ridley's from Blade Runner or Alien. It isn't a visual masterpiece to me. There's some iconic shots in there, but it doesn't have anywhere near the amount of eye candy the original has. Load up both films in 4K, watch them back to back... you'll see what I mean.
But, it is a very good film.

Stream blade runner 2049. Blade runner 2049 box office. This is my favourite trailer to the best film ever made. The tension it builds up throughout the runtime of just 2:32 is amazing, it displays the characters, although not too much of the plot for fans who want a surprise, and its just so beautiful. I cannot put into words how much I love this trailer, and I cannot put into words how much I loved the film. For any Agatha Christie fans, who done it fans, or train enthusiasts, i highly recommend this film. I thought it followed the book enough for me to enjoy. I really love the first 35 minutes of the film cause of its gorgeous scenery. And being a train enthusiast, I really enjoyed the shots of the train. I'd would give this a 9/10.
